We hope these answers make your decision an easier choice and we would love to be given a chance to earn your trust and business.

A. Clean cut, uniformed, fully insured, highly trained technicians that are happy to do their job. All of our technicians are English speaking, are our employees and not subcontractors. You will feel safe and confident that our team will provide you with the best customer service and outstanding cleaning results!
A. Absolutely! We use corner guards for all corners so our hoses wont scratch your walls and we place towels or walk off mats on wood floors. We are very careful about your belongings. We also use Teflon glides on the base of our cleaning wands so not to mark your baseboards or scuff your tile or wood floors.
A. Dry time is affected by humidity, temperature, prior soiling conditions, and air flow to the area. It can take anywhere between 2-12 hours for the carpet to completely dry, depending on the aforementioned variables. Using fans in any rooms cleaned and turning your air conditioning or heating system on, depending on the time of year, can help accelerate drying time. Be sure to leave the protective blocks under furniture legs and any paper used with upholstered items in place until the carpet and/or furniture is completely dry to avoid any color transfer. You may walk on your carpet immediately after cleaning, but avoid wearing street shoes, as they may re-soil your carpet. We suggest wearing clean rubber soled shoes, white socks, or shoe booties that are provided by our technicians. Be especially careful when walking from damp, carpeted areas on to non-carpeted areas to avoid slipping.
A. Yes!! We understand you have a busy schedule just like us, so we have a convenient 1 hour wait period. Example: arrival time between 1-2pm. If we happen to be running behind or ahead of schedule we will call to keep you informed. We all have waited around for some service only for them not to show or call. Very frustrating and unprofessional!
A. At least once a year.  The EPA recommends once every 6 to 8 months for health purposes.  Carpet Manufacturers recommend once every 12 to 18 months to maintain their warranty.
A. No. The dry cleaning methods–which are dry foam, dry chemical and dry compound, don’t rinse your carpet in any way. Instead, they leave a dirty residue or mask the dirt. There is no extraction taking place so that means that nothing is being removed from the carpet. You might say they clean your carpet only half way. The most effective cleaning method is hot water extraction.
A. The method we use for cleaning is hot water extraction, commonly referred to as steam cleaning.  Distinctive Floor Care’s hot water extraction method removes the toughest, deepest dirt safely and gently.  Hot, soft water and a specially formulated cleaning solution are injected deep within the carpet fibers.  Then, a powerful suction extracts deep-down dirt, allergens, cleaning solution and 95% of the moisture.  It’s the cleaning method most recommended by carpet manufacturers.
A. Hot water extraction means a hot water cleaning solution, under high pressure, is forced into your carpet and then drawn back out of your carpet. This allows the dirt, bacteria, and pollens to be broken up and extracted from your carpet. Shaw Industries, the world’s largest carpet manufacturer, requires hot water extraction as the primary method of cleaning carpets. Some people believe that hot water damages your carpet, but this isn’t true. By washing and then rinsing your carpet with hot water, your carpet is thoroughly cleaned.
A. Typically, an area is a room that is up to 250 square feet. Living room/dining room combos are considered two areas. Any area over 250 square feet is considered an oversized area. Non-standard areas (baths, halls, landings, walk-in-closets, etc.) are priced separately from the standard areas, usually at a lesser price. Please know that these room sizes may vary by location.
A. A light vacuuming in the traffic areas is recommended but not required.  If needed, the crew can pre-vacuum the area to be cleaned.  Also, the equipment is vacuuming the entire time we are cleaning.
A. Any small or minor furniture moving is included in our prices. We ask that you move small items and breakables to allow us to move the furniture easily. Some large items can be moved upon request for an additional charge.
A. The solutions that we use are environmentally safe and completely nontoxic and are safe for people with allergies, children and pets. Rugs and furniture can harbor soil and other contaminates. Properly cleaning your carpet and furniture will remove the built up soil and contaminates to improve indoor air quality and reduce allergens.
A. As the finishing touch to your thoroughly cleaned carpet and/or upholstery, specially formulated protectors can be professionally applied. These products help carpet and upholstery resist soiling from dry dirt, water- and oil-based spills by wrapping each fiber in a protective coating. This extra layer gives you more time to clean up spots and spills before they soak into the fibers, helping you keep your carpet and upholstery looking its best between professional cleanings. Plus, it makes vacuuming and cleaning up spots easier.
A. Distinctive Floor Care’s Odor Out uses a natural bacterial enzyme action to digest organic odor sources such as vomit, feces, urine, milk, blood, etc. This product removes organic odors that it contacts. It also uses a neutralizer to give immediate relief from any odors while the enzyme is working. The key to complete removal of an odor is that this product must reach all contaminated surfaces. If the odor causing source has penetrated the backing and possibly the padding we cannot guarantee complete removal of the odor.
A. Just like carpet, dirt builds up over time dulling your tile’s appearance and discoloring your grout. A thorough, professional tile & grout cleaning is the only way to remove the deep-down dirt.
A. We use a high pressure rotary tool with dual rotating jets. This is combined with the same truck-mounted steam/pressure cleaning we use to deep clean your carpet. We use tile and grout specific cleaners that strip away any waxy build-up and remove the dirt embedded in the grout lines. Unlike carpet and upholstery where you are limited on how agressive you can get, ceramic and porcelain tile cleaning has less limitations and will provide excellent results.
A. Grout is a porous material that absorbs soil and spills, just like carpet. Having a sealant applied will help create a protective barrier, giving you more time to clean up dirt and liquid spills before they soak into the grout.
A. We recommend that you wait 30 minutes before walking on the floor to allow the sealant to dry. It will take 24 hours for the sealant to cure completely, so we suggest that you avoid any liquid coming in contact with the sealant during that time.
A. You will speak with a certified restoration specialist very soon after your call. Then we’ll do the following to help you reclaim your home:

  • Advise you of what to do to minimize damage until our crew arrives.
  • Dispatch certified, trained, and experienced water damage crews to your home within two hours or less.
  • Pump out freestanding water quickly, and then extract water from carpet, padding, and upholstery.

  • Use specialized instruments to locate hidden pockets of water and to technically monitor the dehumidification/drying process.
  • Work directly with your insurance company to process claims and get your home back to normal as soon as possible.
  • Make sure your home’s structure and contents are dry, to the recommended industry standards.
